Aggreko powers Zayed Sports City for the FIFA
Club World Cup. UAE 2009
Abu Dhabi, December 2009 - Aggreko, the world
leader in the provision of temporary
power and temperature control
services, will supply over 10 MW of power to Zayed Sports City in
Abu Dhabi, which is one of the venues for the 2009 FIFA Club World
Cup UAE 2009, being played from the 9th to
19thof December.
Aggreko will provide power to the
fan zone, the VIP areas and the International Broadcast Centre
(IBC), which will allow millions of fans around the world to tune
in and watch the tournament over the 10 days.
The 43,000 capacity stadium at
Zayed Sports City will play host to teams such as FC Barcelona,
Club Estudiantes de la Plata and Auckland City FC, with the final
match being played on December 19. The contract was awarded to
Aggreko following a competitive tender process involving many local
suppliers.

Zayed Sports City on this project. The UAE is fast becoming a hub
for sporting events on this scale and having a good quality power
supply is imperative, especially for the International Broadcasting
Centre, when millions of viewers will be watching the
tournament.”
