Aggreko Keeps Critical Refrigeration Up and Running at Hog
Processing Plant
The challenge to the customer
At a large-scale, 1000 employee hog processing
plant, refrigeration systems are critical to maintaining operations
and protecting processed meat for shipping.
As the plant readied for an expansion of
its existing ammonia refrigeration system, it needed a temporary
warehouse cooling system to maintain undisrupted
operations.
Aggreko's solution
The plant called upon Aggreko to keep its
28,000 sq. ft. warehouse at 28oF during the three-day
shutdown of its ammonia system.
Working with a Florida mechanical contractor,
Aggreko planned the project layout and identified the equipment
required. The solution included:
- 18 x 10 ton low temperature handlers
- 2 x 150 ton air-cooled chillers
- 1 x 1250kW generator
- 2 x l-line panels
- A 2300 gallon fuel tank
- All required cabling and hoses
The Aggreko team successfully fabricated
headers, tested all equipment and planned the project meticulously
to ensure a smooth installation and startup. Thanks to Aggreko’s
attention to detail, the entire project went flawlessly – with no
disruption to the warehouse’s operations or shipping
functions.
