Aggreko to Power Professional Football's championship game
Aggreko LLC, the world’s leading supplier of temporary power and
temperature control solutions, is once again providing large-scale
power generation and temperature control for professional
football’s championship game on Sunday, February 3rd at the
University of Phoenix Stadium.
Following months of planning and preparation, Aggreko will be
responsible for powering everything from lighting and video during
the spectacular halftime performance to stadium security, and
providing power and temperature control to the domestic and
international media compounds that are broadcasting the event
worldwide to more than 800 million viewers in 220 countries.
“Aggreko has a rich history with professional football, having
provided power and cooling services for 18 championship games,”
said David Prince, National Accounts Representative for Aggreko
Event Services. “Our experienced team has put together an
outstanding game plan that will ensure uninterrupted power, comfort
and security for this year’s championship, surrounding events and
broadcast.”
An event of this magnitude requires an enormous amount of time
and equipment. For the halftime show, media compounds and other
related venues, Aggreko’s network of service centers will
provide:
- 8MW of Aggreko generators and power distribution that will
produce enough electricity to power 2,500 mid-sized homes
- 200 tons of heating/cooling
- 95 distribution boards and 35 transformers
- 200,000 feet of cable (650 football fields long)
- A crew of 12 dedicated Aggreko employees for the installation
and operation of the event
Aggreko’s experienced crew began the lengthy
process of installing the complex array of equipment more than a
month prior to the game. The dismantling is expected to take
another two weeks once the final whistle blows.
Aggreko has a long history of providing power
to high-profile events, including presidential inaugurations,
the Olympic Games and the Daytona 500 NASCAR race.
