The Customer Challenge

In preparation for a figure skating championship, an ice rink event supplier needed to ensure a perfect rink foundation, precise ice density and the ability to meet stringent time constraints for this high-profile event. The skaters only have one chance to perform at their best and move on to the world championships.  The customer needed to create the ideal professional skating surface and turned to Aggreko Event Services for temperature control solutions.

The Aggreko Solution

Aggreko supplied a chiller rental system for the Olympic-size rink, providing a consistent ice surface on which more than 200 skaters competed for national titles in Ladies’, Men’s, Pairs and Ice Dance. The cooling capacity needed to create the ideal surface for competitors was huge – equivalent to cooling over 100 average-sized houses on a hot summer day.
