Aggreko welcomes new depot in Indonesia

Aggreko Indonesia Depot Opening 2016

Aggreko launches its first Indonesia depot and service centre in Marunda, Jakarta on Friday, 9th December.

The opening follows a commitment signed by Aggreko in London when President Joko Widodo visited at the UK-Indonesia business forum earlier this year and paves the way to bring up to 100 MW of additional power, as well as support the hiring and training of local people in the region.

The company has already brought a number of projects in Indonesia that total nearly 500 MW over the last 20 years and has a policy of hiring and training a local workforce.

Jakarta was chosen for the new purpose-built premium service centre and depot for its easy access to the largest container port in Southeast Asia. The facility contains a warehouse equipped with everything needed to bring cost effective mobile, modular power to customers quickly and efficiently.

Aggreko’s Regional Director for South Asia, Radhakrishnan Viswanathan, said: “The opening of our new Marunda depot will help Aggreko to continue to serve local businesses and power Indonesian projects more efficiently and effectively.

“It is a very exciting time for us and we are proud to be able to work in such a thriving business environment.”

The depot will be able to provide up to 80 MW of rapid response, reliable electricity to industries including utilities, events, oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and construction, among others, as well as contingency equipment for emergency situations.

The service centre will also undertake routine servicing and maintenance, as well as in-depth diagnostics, offering the same industry-standard services offered by Aggreko at more than 200 locations around the world.

This new depot displays Aggreko’s strong commitment to support Indonesia, alongside the “35.000 Mega Watt Electricity for Indonesia” program that was launched by President Joko Widodo in 2015.
