Hay Mate: Buy a Bale — A Concert for the Farmers
The sight of green grass had the crowd screaming with excitement last weekend at Hay Mate: Buy a Bale — A Concert for the Farmers.
Farmers and graziers who have battled to keep their livestock alive in the driest 18 months since records began in 1900 were treated to emotional performances by Australian music legends at Scully Park in Tamworth.
As part of our local Orange Day of Difference, Aggreko powered the broadcast live across Australia with 1 x twin 150Kva power the broadcast and a twin 250kva powering the stage set up backstage for the evening.
The crowd sweltered under their Akubra hats during the 30-degree day, but dusk brought the mercury down to 21 degrees and the concertgoers to their feet.
In an overwhelming show of support, Australians have dug deep for our struggling farmers and shown them what their hard work and resilience means to the nation. Over $2 million was raised for farming charity, Rural Aid, and will provide some much-needed relief to those suffering hard times. More than 4500 farmers have sought help from the charity already this year.
