Cooling down hot hydrotreated gas oil
A Western Canadian oil refinery needed to maximize their overall summer production to keep up with the seasonal demand. In order to do so they would need to operate at 40 percent over their boilerplate capacity. However, they faced a challenge in reaching that production capacity with their hydrotreated gas oil (HGO) stream temperatures exceeding the 107°F (45°C) pipeline specifications.
They needed to quickly find a reliable way to bring those temperatures down to meet their demands, so they called on Aggreko.
