THE CHALLENGE
Power submersible pumps that needed to divert river water
The River Afan in Port Talbot, South Wales was undergoing remedial work, but its water was vital for the ABP Docks and a local steelworks. Pump Supplies, employed by Andrew Scott, needed power for its high capacity submersible water pumps to divert the river’s flow during the project.

The solution
Three generators powering a range of
submersible pumps
We provided three generators to produce enough power for two large Flygt 12” pumps and some smaller Flygt 6” pumps. We monitored them using our remote monitoring technology to ensure reliability. Even out of hours we kept an eye on their performance.

The impact
Constant, reliable power so the river could be diverted and remedial work could continue unhindered
The docks and steelworks needed water even though the River Afan needed work. But after 25 years of working together, Pump Supplies knew they could rely on us to bring the power for their pumps to get the job done.
"We have worked with the Aggreko team for a number of years, using their generators to power our pumps. Our relationship works well, they supply us with quality products so we can get on with our projects without need to be concerned about power requirements."
