First ever virtual delivery of iconic ski event
Our customer is the event organiser of the iconic “World Cup Chamonix Mont-Blanc” race. This is the flagship ski event of the valley of Chamonix and it is part of the annual list of social events of the resort.
In agreement with the Federation International de Ski (FIS) and the French Ski Federation (FFS), and by following the current health recommendations, the competitions could take place but had to be held behind closed doors. This protocol would help protect the athletes and ensure the smooth running of the World Cup, despite the complexities that the lockdown measures have impacted.
There would be no spectators allowed for this 2021 edition, but the organiser installed a new digital device to allow a large number of people to experience this great skiing festival virtually to sate the large demand from fans around the world.
With new technology comes new challenges, but the organiser was aware of our electrical expertise and handling of cutting-edge innovations. If anyone could help deliver this event virtually for the fans – it was Aggreko.

Safe, reliable expertise and equipment
To deliver the reliability that we are known for, extensive testing of our equipment had to be completed. This was done nearby at our depot in Lyon.
The thorough scrutiny of our equipment meant that we could provide fault-free operation – something very difficult to achieve when working with new technology.
Safety is always foremost in our plans too and our technician – on-site for five days – performed a PCR test and followed all necessary sanitary regulations.
