We're the Official Power Supplier for The Ryder Cup 2018
Aggreko are the Official temporary power and temperature control Supplier for the 2018 Ryder Cup, taking place in Paris between 28-30 September.
It is not simply our reliable power we’ll be supplying at the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. We will also ensure that event structures are heated and cooled to the optimum temperature by deploying 35 of our heat pump chillers that are capable of adapting to the fluctuating weather at this time of year.
We have been on site at the course for around six months designing, installing and delivering exactly what is required, including just under 2,000 light fittings for security and safety too.
We make sure everything is covered, so our customers don’t have to.
This includes the facilities for the 24 golfers doing battle on the course for Team USA and Team Europe. This will also include powering the required facilities to look after approximately 275,000 spectators during the week of the event as well as almost 8000 staff and volunteers, in addition to some 2000 accredited media serving the needs of a global broadcast and on line audience.
Last year we signed a six year partnership with the European Tour, which makes us the European Tour’s power and climate control supplier until 2023. This includes a minimum of 12 tournaments annually between 2017-2023, as well as the 2022 Ryder Cup too.
Our extensive experience in partnering and powering major events with our reliable power, heating and cooling is a big reason why we have been trusted to provide the foundation to this huge sporting spectacle – this will be our seventh Ryder Cup in all.
We are committed to golfing events, and our partnership with rising star and European Tour winner Jordan Smith shows how passionate we are to delivering the perfect platform for the sport.
From the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games earlier this year, to the upcoming European Sports Championships in Glasgow in August, there’s another reason why we are chosen to partner the globe’s largest events.
We know what it takes when the world is watching.
