Temperature-controlled trauma centre upgrade
A hospital in New York was facing an emergency of a different kind when upgrading the Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) system in their Level 1 trauma centre. Trauma centres rely on stable, sterile, temperature-controlled environments for the critical care of patients. Although essential, the upgrade risked destabilising the very conditions that keep patients alive.
The facilities manager was acutely aware of these challenges. He needed temperature-control experts who understood that there was no room for error when installing a temporary HVAC system for critical services.

Capacity of water-cooled system
Water-cooled, low noise, low emission
Because this was no ordinary temperature control project, our experts did a walk-through of the site and carefully assessed the needs before bringing in the equipment. We developed and installed a cooling system made up of water-cooled chillers with connected pumps and cabling. The system had inbuilt back-up units to ensure there were no outages.
We managed fuel sources during the upgrade and used quiet, low-emission generators so the environment remained sterile, as well as calm and noise-free.

Outage-free critical care during the upgrade
The ready-to-go package and technical support resulted in a safe, contamination-free environment while the new permanent system was installed.
The equipment was mobilised and installed within days, which allowed the hospital to go ahead with the upgrade without delay. The doctors and hospital staff could focus on round-the-clock medical care for their critically-ill patients without having to worry about possible contamination or HVAC outages.
“With patient care the number one priority, we delivered a system guaranteed to keep the environment sterile and noiseless.”
