5 reasons to consider an Aggreko heater

Summer may not be over yet, but it’s never too early to start preparing for those colder winter temperatures. For our next video, we talk about heaters and how our climate control specialists keep industrial and commercial businesses up and running – no matter how cold it becomes.

Rental heaters

From construction, oil field and industrial plant sites to events, we have worked closely with customers to address climate control challenges during the toughest winters. Using our proprietary software for Total Operating Cost Analysis, we deliver portable climate control solutions that best fit with your needs. Our heaters range from 250 K to 25 M BTU and can provide +70° to +190° F air.

Customized approach for cost-effective results

With a focus on fuel savings, safety and reliability we ensure your site is winter ready and production continues uninterrupted even in the harshest of conditions.

We often find ways to show our clients fuel savings of up to 50% over current heating methods. We do this by uncovering inefficient or obsolete processes so they can be replaced with today’s best practices.

Full turnkey setup, takedown, movement and onsite preventative maintenance

We know you have better things to do with your time, and just how valuable that time is. When it comes to climate control rental solutions, getting the equipment there, setting it up, commissioning and movement can seem hard, but you don’t need to worry. We’ll ensure that you can keep your focus on production. We have the expertise and the focus to put all the pieces together (logistics, equipment, electrical, fuel, labor, permits, oil changes and maintenance) creating an environment of maximum uptime with minimum headaches.

Explosion proof and flameless heating

Different locations of your plant site might require different solutions. We help show what the best rental heating options are to ensure each area of the plant operates safely and effectively. We help you determine heat calculations, fuel consumption, labor and transport. The final result could be multiple types of systems including conventional heaters, hydronic systems and heat for flameless and explosion proof environments.

Supplement heat for permanent buildings

In the nastiest winters, sometimes your building HVAC or steam generation facilities can be maxed out, or worse, at a deficit.  We are able to respond quickly and effectively to make sure your critical infrastructure does not freeze when permanent heat systems go down or can’t keep up.

Instrumentation and critical valve heating

You can have confidence knowing your instrumentation and remote hydraulic valves will operate exactly when you need them to, no matter what the temperature is. We custom configure the right heating solutions package focusing on reliability and fuel efficiency for your mission critical infrastructure.

Pipeline thaw and freeze prevention

Sometimes -30°F happens and you might find frozen pipes. That is why prevention is key. Especially in areas which seem to be more prone to pipeline freezing. We put the right solution in place before the snow flies to make the nightmare of a frozen pipeline a thing of the past. With 24/7 service, it doesn’t matter the distance of the pipe you need to be freeze prevented or thawed.

Temperature control for plant turnaround or shutdown

Aggreko can help you ensure your turnaround stays on-time and on budget.  Whether you need short term maintenance heating, cooling or curing we’ll work with your subcontractors in pre-planning through to equipment setup and removal to ensure you’re your goals are met within your tight schedules.

Emergency rental heaters

Let’s talk about real example of heater application. When a large Midwestern refinery was affected after a deep freeze upon the plant, its series of butane hold too much water. When they opened the valve to move butane from the spheres to the gasoline blending area they found that the valve had been damaged due to a 10°F frozen-solid line upstream of the valve.

Butane was unable to be transported and operators realized this issue existed in multiple locations. Refinery operations were risked to be backed down – potentially causing major operational and financial consequences.

Within three days, the Aggreko Process Services (APS) engineers met with the onsite management team presented their proposed solution alleviating any permitting and MOC issues, and delivered equipment for immediate installation. We provided a complete package of 200 kW generator, 150 kW heater, and 8,000 cubic feet per minute blower. While the heater could have generated 300°F air, the system was run at 100°F to avoid rapid metal expansion that would certainly cause future damage. The electrically-heated air was powered by a low-emission generator, which thawed the ice, allowing the product to be pumped to the gasoline blending area.

The installation was supported by Aggreko Remote Monitoring (ARM) service which monitored the equipment 24 hours a day from our Remote Operations Center.
