Glasgow's Riverside Museum exhibition sponsored by Aggreko
The James Watt Bicentennial display; Going Green - The Drive for Energy Efficiency, focuses on Watt's pioneering spirit, his legacy and his dedication to efficiency - and we share these values.
A new display at Glasgow's Riverside Museum is sponsored by Aggreko. Why are we supporting? Because this fascinating display inspired by one of Glasgow's famous sons, inventor James Watt, who was driven by three things:
A pioneering spirit
A dedication to efficiency
A faith in developing technology
This exhibition connects the current pressing need for renewable energy sources with Watt's inventions, which reduced fossil fuel consumption and improved the efficiency of existing technology at the time.
AFTER MUCH PERSEVERANCE, WATT INVENTED A DEVICE CALLED A 'SEPARATE CONDENSER.' THIS REDUCED THE AMOUNT OF COAL NEEDED TO DRIVE A STEAM ENGINE, IMPROVING EFFICIENCY AND REVOLUTIONISING OUR MODERN INDUSTRIAL WORLD.
Fast forward to today, and Aggreko are making a massive difference in the same vein as Watt.
We are committed to continual investment in new technology and solutions for cutting emissions. From using HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) to power Glastonbury, to harnessing the sun for our customers critical needs, our aim is to help build a sustainable world.
Here is how we are pushing the boundaries of energy and providing cleaner power, heating, cooling and energy storage around the globe:
