Dehumidification
“Without the right temperature and humidity levels, the artist’s materials could have been compromised. We are proud to have teamed up with Aggreko to help create a successful event.”
If excess moisture threatens your operation, our industrial dehumidifiers will keep things dry no matter how big the space.
High humidity can corrode electronics, prevent newly poured concrete drying and cause equipment to rust. Floods and leaks can also wreak havoc – costing you time and money.
Our dehumidifiers can be used to:
- Prevent metal corrosion.
- Reduce drying times for concrete, insulation and fireproofing.
- Aid processes, such as stabilising or preserving food products.
- Preserve equipment on cold stacked offshore rigs.
- Reduce mould and mildew growth during production processes.
- Dry out water-damaged buildings.
We have two types of dehumidifier – desiccant and refrigerated – so we can recommend the best one for your needs. And because we keep equipment on standby at our worldwide locations we can get them to you fast – no matter how big your emergency.
“Tackling floods is different to controlling humidity in buildings. That’s why we carefully match our equipment to your specific challenge.”
Desiccant dehumidifiers
Our desiccant dehumidifiers perform well at low temperatures and in cold climates. They’re ideal for outdoor use and in places where electricity is limited because they can be run using natural gas, propane, or steam heating.
They work by using silica gel – a desiccant material that attracts moisture from gases and liquids. The moisture is retained within the silica gel and is released again when heated.
We custom-manufacture our desiccant dehumidifiers with an internal silica gel wheel. The wheel rotates slowly, drawing air into the gel, which retains the moisture. The dried air is then blown back into the room or building. The wheel is then heated, which vaporises the trapped moisture, allowing it to be blown outside of the building.
These dehumidifiers are perfect for manufacturing or construction use, such as reducing the drying time for wet concrete, speeding up painting and coating operations, or minimising corrosion.
“Our refrigerated dehumidifiers work best in warmer climates with high humidity.”
Refrigerated dehumidifiers
Our refrigerated dehumidifiers are a good choice if you need to remove large volumes of water quickly. This is particularly useful if you need to dry out buildings after floods or water leaks.
They work by using a fan to pass the room’s air through a filter and over a series of cold coils. This causes the water in the air to condense and it then drips into a water tank where it can be collected and emptied as needed.
Refrigerated drying works best when there’s a high temperature differential. This makes them ideal for use in warmer climates, or in centrally heated buildings, with high humidity levels.
