How Aggreko supported a first-of-its-kind CDU testing application in India
A major data centre project in Bangalore required testing of a Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) before package start-up. The customer needed to test the CDU as part of a critical programme for its end client, but faced a significant technical challenge: the CDU could not be operated without a suitable load source.
The testing process required a carefully engineered solution capable of supporting the CDU while maintaining strict operating parameters throughout the programme.
Adding further complexity, this represented the first known CDU testing application of its kind in India. The CDU operated using PG25% coolant on the secondary circuit and was highly sensitive to contamination. Any foreign particles introduced during testing could affect the integrity of the system, making cleanliness and control critical requirements throughout the project.
The customer needed more than equipment. They needed a partner capable of designing and managing a controlled testing environment built around the CDU's specific operating requirements. To support the programme, Aggreko collected and analysed key operating data, including temperature profiles, flow rates and pressure requirements, before developing a tailored testing solution.
