Efficient cooling and power solutions for the annual global wrestling events at the Superdome, Jeddah

Stonewall required power and cooling solutions for their upcoming major events at the Superdome in Jeddah.

With the live event watched by over 15,000 in person and broadcasted globally, Aggreko was trusted to provide a critical energy supply.

The client needed 5,350 kVA of power and 35 five-ton cooling units to power the entire project and keep the venue cool. The 5,350 kVA of power was to cover both the event power and the power needed for the build.

There were a number of challenges to consider throughout the project, including the high amount of energy needed to power the audio, video, and lighting equipment. This meant that the client would need the help of a load bank to manage load fluctuations and make sure the power kept running throughout.

Additionally, long cable runs were needed to cover the site due to the sheer scale of the venue.

Aggreko provided a range of power and cooling equipment tailored to meet the event’s diverse needs. This included 10 generators of varying sizes, 35 five-ton air-conditioning units, and a 3 MVA load bank.

With the help of our dedicated, expert team made up of a project lead, a lead generator technician, four generator technicians, and an HVAC technician, we ensured a smooth operation throughout.

Aggreko also offered extensive secondary power distribution, including cables, distribution boxes, and cable ramps, which were all sourced locally – reducing any logistical complexities for the client.

Aggreko’s comprehensive power and cooling solutions ensured seamless operations for the client, with no cooling or power interruptions.

Thanks to our decision to use locally available equipment and resources, the client was able to considerably reduce the costs associated with shipping and logistics.
