The challenge

Uninterruptible power for a multi-faceted sporting spectacle

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals Singapore has been one of the few truly international sporting events in Singapore’s sporting calendar, since its introduction in 2014.

The country’s tourism board and key organisers committed to providing an all-encompassing experience, not just staging another sports event, but with the objective of promoting the sport within the country and to also generate more media and spectator focus..

Hence, the WTA Finals Singapore brings a myriad of side-line activities in accompaniment of the main action in the tennis court: A fan village with engaging activities, various exhibits and a retail element was staged for the general public to make this sporting spectacle bigger than ever before.

There’s also hospitality suites for corporate entertainment and functions. Key amenities such as kitchen facilities, players’ resting lounges and media broadcasting were also part of the mix that makes this event truly a tennis carnival, not just a competition.

While the venue boasts good infrastructure for a multi-faceted event of such scale, the surge in power requirements meant that the organiser had to seek additional power to get the event running.

They needed a power partner they could trust, with ample experience in handling the world’s largest events.
