The Challenge
Provide power for 50 kitchens, lighting and sound stages in a city location
Who do you come to when you need help with a unique, power-hungry event like the Night Noodle Markets?
Leading Australian event lighting company 32 Hundred Lighting came to us. The challenge was immense. Multiple kitchens use substantial power, with unpredictable spikes as the crowds come and go. But as you may have guessed from the event company’s name, we weren’t just powering 50 kitchens. As well as sound stages, front and back-of-house facilities, lighting and video screens, the entire space was transformed by a series of visually stunning and immersive light installations.
Working to a critical delivery date, we needed to provide continual power, 18 hours a day. And all this at the heart of Sydney and Melbourne city centres, creating extreme logistical challenges, especially for refuelling.

The Solution
Seven generators ranging from 125 to 200 kVa
Working closely with 32 Hundred Lighting, we created a bespoke system of seven generators ranging from 125 to 200kVa. Our experienced engineers knew that this would offer the best combination of flexibility and reliability given the nature of the site and energy demands. Our unique remote monitoring system played a key role. The experts at our Remote Operations Centre were on hand 24/7, reading and responding to live data.
This meant we could anticipate and rectify problems before they happened.
Our team also meticulously planned and completed delivery to the tight schedule required, allowing for traffic and logistical issues at this busy city-centre location.
The Impact
Reliable power provided 18 hours a day, allowing for huge surges in demand
32 Hundred Lighting needed a partner who could anticipate their needs, provide workable, flexible solutions and take initiative at all times. From the unpredictable and unusual energy demands to the key logistical challenges presented by the nature of the site, we overcame it all. The event was a roaring success – the fact that we were immediately booked to provide power for the Melbourne Night Noodle Market was a testament to the great dedication and teamwork of all involved.
We gave 32 Hundred Lighting the quality service and reliability they required so they could get on with doing what they do best – creating a stunning, memorable and hugely successful event.
