Managing the energy transition is by far one of the biggest challenges for industry today and businesses are now mapping the move away from less-efficient practices. While recent events have made changes more difficult, there is now an opportunity to ‘build back better’ by choosing equipment that can kickstart a green construction boom. We are privileged to be already supporting many on their journey and welcome any new conversations as a result of this initiative.
Aggreko’s Net Zero strategy: at the forefront of the energy transition
At Aggreko, we have set out to lead the energy transition with our decarbonisation strategy. Within the next 10 years, we aim to:
- cut the amount of diesel fuel used in our fleet by at least 50%
- reduce the local air quality emissions from our equipment by 50%
And by 2050, we will aim to achieve net zero across all business operations.
Commitment to investing in sustainable equipment
As part of this we have launched our ‘Greener Upgrades’ initiative, which has seen us making a multimillion pound investment in our equipment and services including a new fleet of Stage V generators and hybrid batteries, as well as offering hydro treated vegetable oil (HVO) as a drop-in fuel.
We are also working with industry leaders in our key sectors to trial these products in real life applications. Not only does this support you, our customers, in reducing your environmental impact, it also in many cases helps reduce your costs.
