Energising the search for gas power
Client: Strike Energy
Location: South Australia
Sectors: Oil and Gas
The Challenge
Ground-breaking drilling campaign in remote location needs cost-effective power
The Cooper Basin in South Australia is one of the most productive sites for oil and gas, and has the capacity to ease a looming gas shortage in Eastern Australia.
To find out if Strike Energy’s Cooper Basin Project had the gas reserves to bridge the energy fuel gap, the customer drilled one of the most technically advanced Coal Seam Gas wells - deeper than any completed in Australia before.
The site is extremely remote, with no grid energy within.
For this plan to succeed, the customer needed a reliable, safe and flexible power solution, coupled with an experienced provider to partner with.

The Solution
A comprehensive strategy and reliable equipment to deliver efficient power and flexibility.
Having vast experience supporting oil and gas sites, our engineers and operations teams worked closely with Strike to design and set up a flexible power supply that included redundancies, which could produce reliable power safely for operations, mess facilities and the gas well dewatering systems during the various phases of the operation’s life cycle.
With circumstances constantly changing, Aggreko provided the flexibility to meet operational requirements within a short reaction time.
