Powering a worthy event for the Lismore floods

Lifting the spirits of the floods' victims

On the 15th of May, around 15,000 people gathered at Lismore’s showground to watch the One from the Heart concert, an event organised to lift the spirits of the victims of the recent devastating floods in the area and to celebrate the resilience of the community after a difficult start to the year.

Some legends of Australian music took part in the event, including The Buckleys, Darlinghurst, Paul Kelly and Dan Kelly, and many more, including Lismore’s own rock band, Grinspoon, who felt the need to give back to their hometown in hard times.

An event that would normally take about six months to prepare, was organised in six weeks by the Lismore City Council, Chugg Entertainment and Helium Records. Aggreko, with our capacity to provide modular energy in record time, helped out by providing the power as well as the expertise required to run the concert. Our very own event specialist Travis Anderson also assisted on the day with his extensive experience in production management and large-scale events.

Mayor of Lismore, Steve Krieg, believes the event is extremely important for the inhabitants, acting as a trigger helping people to reset their mindset, get back to some sort of normality and start to rebuild. United, we are strong, and Aggreko stands in solidarity with the people of Lismore and those affected by the floods from earlier in the year.
