A new data centre was under construction, but uncertainty around the availability of utility power created a critical risk to both commissioning and live operations. With deadlines fast approaching, our customer needed a reliable temporary power solution that could be deployed fast. Without compromising compliance, performance or reputation.
Failure to secure power in time would have resulted in significant financial penalties, reputational damage and potential loss of future business. At the same time, local regulations required a low-emissions solution, while strict noise limits meant a full noise study and mitigation measures were essential.
Adding complexity, the project timeline was extremely tight. While our customer needed the solution delivered and operational at speed, they also required the same level of documentation, testing and commissioning rigor expected of a permanent installation.
As construction progressed, requirements continued to evolve, demanding flexibility in power levels and configuration throughout different project stages.
Our team delivered a 10 MW N+1 temporary power solution, installed and commissioned within just six weeks. The solution was designed to support both commissioning and operational phases, with the flexibility to adapt as the data centre build progressed.

Despite the tight schedule, we followed a full commissioning and documentation process, reflecting our customer’s permanent-infrastructure standards. The project was treated with the same engineering discipline as a long-term installation. This included detailed planning, compliance checks and ongoing adaptation as site conditions and power demands changed.
Despite ongoing uncertainty around grid connection, we helped our customer meet all commissioning and operational milestones. Alongside all emissions and noise regulations. The initial contract duration of 52 weeks was extended, reflecting the reliability of the solution and the continued need for temporary power.
