The Challenge
Raise money for critical relief efforts after bushfires plague Australia
The recent bushfires in Australia affected the entire country, consuming nearly 15 million acres of land – home to many indigenous species – and destroying approximately 1,400 homes.
Recovery efforts were taking place even as the fires burned, but to help the people and animals left without a home – it would take something extraordinary, involving the support and collaboration of many.
The Firefight Australia concert at the ANZ stadium would provide the answer.

The Solution
Huge concert to raise rapid donations and lift spirits across the nation
Aggreko were already involved in helping put out the fires – we sent a truck 1680 kilometres to boost the fight against the bushfires, which was filled with diesel generators to help those at the front end.
So, it made sense that our experts and equipment were involved in the Firefight Australia concert.
It would be held at the ANZ stadium, which can hold up to 75,000 fans. From the moment the box office for tickets opened, within 24 hours the event was sold out.
To put on a show headlined with global superstars, reliable power would be mandatory.
We provided 3000 kVA of concert power, which included the main stage all the way through to broadcasting, as well as ancillaries and a dedicated team on site to ensure the lights shined brightly and the cameras kept rolling. The Impact
Nearly $10 million raised to boost rebuild and relief efforts
The concert raised around $10million AUD for the country’s recovery efforts, enough to give a boost to those who need it most.
Aggreko’s rapid delivery of power and events sector experience, blended with teamwork and communication, allowed this concert to make a massive difference to Australia – and we will continue to be at the forefront of the effort to help Australia wherever and however we are needed.
