The Challenge

Powering the outback

Aggreko has been successfully managing the power of the Big Red Bash for several years.

Now a new Broken Hill music festival located in New South Wales outback - managed by the same promoter - needed reliable, remote power to keep the whole event running smoothly. And with no room for error, they needed a guarantee that no power outages would disrupt the event.

The Solution

Providing a full solution for the event

We provided the client with a full power generation and distribution solution. We redesigned the overlay from previous years to fit in with the new event site and also offered a technician to oversee the project from start to finish.

Our contractor from the global event team located in Australia prepared the equipment with the local Brisbane team and then drove the truck to Broken Hill for the installation, show, and teardown.

The team situated in Melbourne prepared all the generators in the depot and made sure they were fit and ready to be picked up by the customer.

The Impact

Rocking out in the outback

The event was a huge success, and a buzz has been set up for their next event in August - helping to support tourism and promote the Australian outback.

The client was so happy with their rock star energy management that they signed up for a multi-year contract to supply power for future events.

At our end, it all went smoothly - the various chats I had with Alister during the event he had it all under control. He was very helpful and was proactive and I handed him the keys to the forklift to position the gensets and other gear which saved us some valuable time from other general operators. Was refreshing having a professional who is obviously very good at his job onsite
