Formula 1® - Sustainability

Sustainability

When it comes to sustainable energy, we have a proven track record. At the FORMULA 1 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX 2023, our Greener Upgrades power solution helped reduce associated carbon emissions by >90% within the Paddock, Pit Lane, and broadcast areas compared to the 2022 event. This solution is now being used across all European Grands Prix in 2025.

It’s all about small switches that make a big difference. Like changing to HVO fuel to cut CO2 and utilising solar and battery technology to reduce fuel consumption.

This ethos is why we developed Greener Upgrades. Introduced in 2021, our aim was to give customers a choice; balancing affordability with energy security and sustainability. In the process delivering efficiency, resilience and lower emissions.

Greener Upgrades

Small switch, big difference

At Aggreko we are supporting companies on their decarbonisation journey by providing newer technologies and techniques which lower carbon emissions and deliver fuel savings.

Our multimillion-pound investment in our equipment and services includes a new fleet of Stage V generators and hybrid batteries, as well as offering hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as a drop-in fuel.
