Commissioning six hot aisle containment systems.
Our customer needed to commission six Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) systems for a data centre in Spain. All within a tight programme. Each HAC required 1.4 MW of liquid cooling and 600 kW of air cooling, creating a complex commissioning challenge that standard air load banks alone could not address.
While the air-cooled systems could be tested using conventional air load banks and heaters, the liquid-cooled elements of the HAC required a far more specialised approach. Without the ability to accurately replicate liquid cooling loads, our customer would not have been able to fully commission the HAC systems. Putting the overall data centre timeline at risk.
Timing and logistics added further pressure. The installation had to be completed in two weeks, followed by one week of commissioning and seven weeks of operation. To complicate things further, all equipment had to be lifted to the third floor of the facility by crane.
