The challenge
Provide power to help manufacturer commence production
A global vehicle design and engineering company built a new castings factory to serve automotive customers in the West Midlands. With the construction completed the company was keen to commission the site and commence production and asked Aggreko to provide temporary power as connection to the grid was delayed. Connection issues can be a major concern for new build industrial sites. However, the company looked to Aggreko, not only for temporary power, but also to provide an innovative, bespoke solution to reduce project operating costs.

The solution
Power package with ADDGAS solution to lower operating costs
Aggreko provided a 125kVA diesel generator, a 1375kVA gas generator, a 1250kVA AddGas generator and a 3.15MVA 11kV transformer to meet the site’s power requirements.
A major portion of any power project budget is fuel cost; by reducing the amount of diesel consumed, Aggreko’s ADDGAS system provides an effective means of lowering overall costs. The ADDGAS system can reduce the amount of diesel consumed by 35-50%, depending on the quality of natural gas available, resulting in significant savings over the lifecycle of a project.
The impact
Our reliable power helped manufacturer commence production and save costs
The project will run for many months until grid connection is complete. During this period the ADDGAS solution will ensure that operating costs are reduced. In addition Aggreko’s remote monitoring service ensures that the equipment will run at maximum efficiency. With Aggreko's rental solutions, the customer also has the peace of mind that the power system can be quickly expanded if production increases.
