What does "Front-of-Meter" mean?
Front-of-Meter (FoM) generation refers to generation that occurs on the utility side of the grid typically involving larger scale generation activities. Aggreko IPP Solutions develop dedicated customer FoM solutions delivered with our supply partners, built specifically to meet our customer’s power needs via a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA), that may also be paired with Aggreko IPP Solutions on-site and/or near-site (BtM) customer solutions.
Benefits of Front-of-Meter
- Long term power price certainty
- A fully funded solution with no upfront capital outlay
- Balance BtM PPA renewable supply for customer power needs with 100% renewable energy from remote project dedicated to customer
- Reduced energy costs (if solution includes BtM generation)
- Pure FoM PPA customer solution supplying up to 100% dedicated renewable energy from remote project to meet customer power needs
- Single point of transaction for customer renewable supply across multiple sites
Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs)
Aggreko IPP Solutions can support its customers with CPPAs for their renewable energy needs.
CPPAs are direct contractual agreements between the customer and Aggreko IPP Solutions that allow the customer to procure renewable energy from a new Aggreko IPP Solutions solar project at an agreed long term fixed price. This provides the customer long term price certainty in volatile energy markets, drives investment in new UK renewable capacity and supports in bridging the gap to net zero.
Customers ESG and carbon strategy is elevated as it receives power from a new traceable source of renewable energy that adds required renewable capacity to the UK grid.
