Rapid cooling solution for high-stakes turnaround
A global leader in high-performance materials, faced a significant technical challenge during a planned turnaround at its Antwerp facility. The plant had to shut down its in-house cooling system, a critical process requirement, with just one week to find and implement a reliable, large-scale temporary alternative.
Having worked with Aggreko in the past on a smaller scale, the client turned to us once again—but this time, the job demanded four times the previous cooling capacity. The scale, time pressure, and technical constraints created a high-stakes environment requiring rapid, trusted support.
The Solution

Aggreko responded immediately, designing and deploying a high-capacity temporary cooling system within the required timeframe. The engineered solution included:
- 4x Cooling towers with optimised reliability for continuous operation
- 4x Heat exchangers—some of the largest in our European fleet
- 2x Stage V power generators to ensure efficient, low-emission energy supply
- All associated hoses and fittings, provided with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance
Installation was further complicated by the need to place equipment at height, requiring meticulous planning and weight assessment. The success of the installation was made possible through close collaboration between our European engineering team and the client’s on-site personnel.
