The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown is a supercar motor racing event that also features local and interstate musical talent on stage.

The organisers needed full power generation to support all their onsite electrical requirements throughout the event from preparation to completion.

The remote location and unique power requirements of the site had led to repeated issues with previous power suppliers as unsuitable generators had been provided. Event organisers asked Aggreko to design and install a foolproof solution that would guarantee them full power for the duration of the event.

The solution

Broad range of generators and accompanying expertise to power each element of the large-scale event

The variety of power applications meant a range of different generators were needed across the site to fulfil all the requirements. Other power providers had been unable to cover all bases without bringing in expertise and equipment from elsewhere, but thanks to Aggreko’s extensive skills and range of power solutions we were able to provide everything ourselves.

After assessing the full site, Aggreko experts designed an all-encompassing power solution and installed a total of 40 generators ranging from 20 kVA up to 350 kVA. We also provided all the necessary distribution boards and cabling to get everything powered up in good time for the event to go ahead. To further minimise the risk of any issues, we stationed onsite technicians at the site for the full 42 hours of the event to immediately address even the smallest concerns that arose.
