The Challenge
Powering a factory after a fire
A long-standing partner of Aggreko, a property restoration company, brought us in to provide temporary power for their customer following a devastating electrical fire. An industrial battery manufacturer was at a complete halt and without power as a result of the fire. Replacing their damaged equipment was going to take months, so they needed a temporary power solution to help them get back up and running. A month into the project it was smooth sailing for our team, but unexpectedly a generator caught fire, triggering a succession of other issues.
The facility had already been down and without production long enough, and we couldn’t allow them to go without power again on our account. We quickly assembled a team to assess the situation and restore power and functionality to the facility.

The Solution
A rapid rethink and power deployment
Once we could safely access the site, our first action was to swap out every unit and bring in our Technical Services and Engineering experts to upgrade the electrical design and to recommission and load bank the entire plant.
But we didn’t stop there: after all the issues that arose, we needed to make sure the facility could resume production with no concerns of equipment failure. We put together a robust commissioning, communication, and operations plan that left absolutely no stone unturned. Our technicians were on-site often to check equipment and remained accessible to the customer to answer any questions or concerns.
Additionally, our remote monitoring technology kept a close eye on our generators and helped to provide the customer with additional reassurance.

The facility was able to reopen with no issues, power trouble or other unplanned downtime. Thanks to our team’s swift and decisive response, the manufacturer was back up to speed in no time.
