Reach your sustainability goals with our Tier 4 Final environmentally friendly generators

As the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) embed strict new standards for diesel generators and engines, compliance with Tier 4F emission standards is an obligation, not an option.

Developed for emission reduction, our range of Tier 4 Final generators is built to support your path to a more sustainable, less harmful future. Across our environmentally friendly generators, we’ve taken a considered approach to design, addressing key pollutants and Tier 4 Final emissions identified by the EPA. These include NOx, particulate matter, CO, and CO2–all regulated emissions that we significantly reduce.

Choose an Aggreko clean power generator for:

  • 98% less particulate matter than other generators
  • A 96% reduction in NOx emissions
  • Generators optimized for Tier 4F emission standards

Aggreko is setting the rental industry-wide standard in low-emission, clean power generators

With models ranging from 100 kW to 500 kW, we offer the biggest Tier 4 Final generator fleet in Canada. Whatever your applications, on any scale, we can help.

At the same time, we provide the complete care and support it takes to keep your project and site up and running. It’s not just a quiet, efficient generator but the combination of industry-leading equipment, constant monitoring, and help every step of the way from implementation to ongoing maintenance.

TIER 4F Engines Produce 96% Less NOx AND 98% PM Emissions than Tier 1 Engines

FAQs about Aggreko's Tier 4 Final generators

Tier 4 Final is the final phase regulating emissions from new and in-use non-road compression-ignition diesel engines. It exists to reduce emitted harmful substances like NOx, building on previous emissions standards.

In place across 2011 and 2012, Tier 4I was the first step toward the new standards set in Tier 4F. Tier 4I (or Tier 4 Interim) focused on reducing CO and particulate matter, while Tier 4 Final embeds stronger requirements around NOx.

Driving down emissions on a global basis takes a connected, cohesive approach. Stage 5 (or Stage V) is a set of European emission standards for off-road engines – a counterpart to the US Tier 4 Final emissions standards.

In the US, EPA emissions regulations govern the use of temporary power generators. Some of the key regulations include:

  • A five-stage schedule for emissions reduction on all engines, driving the development of more complex low-emission engines
  • Nitrous oxide (NOx) reduction – these emissions remain in the air for longer than CO2, causing acid rain
  • Particulate matter (PM) reduction – these small carbon particles are created by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels and cause poor air quality and health
