    Expertise, reliability and fast deployment

  • The Solution

Installation of next generation gas generators and battery energy storage

Client:Leading global colocation company

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Sectors:Data centres

The Challenge

Gas power for a data center, whilst connection to grid is secured

A leading colocation provider encountered a power issue, when they found that they would not be able to connect a data center they were developing for a client in Dublin until several months after the site was due to come online. Rather than delay construction on such a vital facility until the grid caught up, the customer chose to find a bridging power supply that could support the site until the connection was available.

As this could take several months, the supply needed to be reliable enough to hit data center tier requirements, use green technology that could meet with stringent EU standards on both emissions and noise, and be able to ramp up its power load as the date center became fully active

"Over recent years, Ireland has become an international hub for the data centre industry, with many leading tech companies choosing to base their operations out of the country. This has posed several increasingly common challenges as the power grid races to keep up with heavy demands placed on it by energy-hungry data centres."
