Auto parts plant beats the heat

Client: Auto parts manufacturer

Location: Ithaca NY, USA

Sectors: Manufacturing

The Challenge

Protecting new auto parts from seasonal humidity

New auto parts with metal components are susceptible to corrosion and rust if exposed to air moisture. And New York late summer humidity could spell trouble for any auto parts manufacturer. For one plant high summer temperatures were causing serious problems for production runs and to make matters worse, their existing rooftop conditioner units just weren't up to the job.

They knew they couldn't continue production under these conditions, but any delays in production would be extremely costly. In search of a reliable solution, they turned to the experts at Aggreko.

The Solution

Complete, temporary dehumidification solution

To help battle the August and September scorching heat and humidity, our moisture control experts brought in a powerful dehumidifier package capable of moisture removal of up to 1,953 gallons per day. We also provided hundreds of feet of flexible poly duct, which evenly distributed cool air throughout the plant floor. Our design helped to supplement their air conditioning units, allowing them to properly cool and create the ideal environment for production — and not to mention, a much more pleasant and safe one for employees.

"A rapid and precise solution was what the plant needed to maintain production levels at the right humidity."
