On a complex and remote construction site, reliable temporary power was critical to keep operations moving. With no grid access, the site relied on diesel generation to support a growing “trailer city” of offices, workforce facilities, and essential services. This meant high fuel consumption, frequent maintenance, and inconsistent performance that risked disruption. The project needed a faster, more efficient way to power early-phase infrastructure without compromising reliability or scalability as the build progressed.

Aggreko experts designed and deployed a hybrid power solution engineered for construction environments: a 300 kW tier 4 final generator paired with a 250 kW / 575 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and full electrical distribution. The system supplied 15 office trailers, 15 living units, and a fuel depot with reliable, consistent power. Installed and commissioned in just four hours, the BESS optimized generator runtime by charging during peak efficiency and supplying stored energy throughout the day. This reduced unnecessary generator use while maintaining consistent, resilient power across the site.

With the generator running only when it delivers maximum efficiency just 25% of the time, our customer got more value from every gallon, every hour, and every asset on site while avoiding an estimated 53,300 kgCO₂e in just one month, equivalent to roughly 639,600 kgCO₂e annually.
