When our client, a major international golf association, told us they were moving their tournament four months early from August to April, we realized we’d need to rethink our strategy fast.
Instead of focusing on cooling tents down, we’d now need to prepare for temperatures of around 20 degrees cooler, without any production loss for the event’s biggest vendor crews on site.
02
We immediately began right-sizing all the HVAC equipment we’d been planning to use, cutting out unnecessarily cooling capacity and ensuring there’d be enough heat to cope with chilly early mornings and evenings in April.
We were right to be cautious. When March rolled around the snow was still falling, so we also used a string of BTU Oil-Fired Heaters to keep this off the main tents.

Our team was so on the ball that we were able to set up heaters before the snow storms began, stopping this from collecting on the tent tops.
This means that the golf event got started without a delay – and guests were warm and comfortable throughout.
