Data center backup power solutions | Bridging power for continuity
Powering data centers beyond the grid
With the rise in generative AI and specialized High-Performance Computing (HPC), the demand for data storage and cloud services continues to grow exponentially, making Data Centers’ access to reliable and continuous power more critical than ever. When local grids struggle to meet your rising energy demands, Aggreko's temporary power solutions deliver off-grid and on-site power availability for data center construction, commissioning and operation.
When the grid becomes a barrier
Relying on the local grid for power can limit your data center's competitive edge, reliability, service levels and sustainability. In grid-constrained environments, data centers face multi-faceted challenges associated with:
- Capacity Limitations - With the grid as a bottleneck, it’s harder to operate, expand, and upgrade your data center to meet rising demand, reducing your ability to scale and compete.
- Upgrade delays - Late infrastructure upgrades put costly, complex construction projects behind schedule, often at great expense.
- High-emission power - New resource-intensive use cases like AI all come with increased energy consumption and, ultimately, higher emissions unless the grid introduces renewable sources on a mass scale.
Bridging the power gap with off-grid, decentralized solutions
We help data center owners, operators, and contractors overcome grid limitations with both short- and long-term bridging power solutions that enable continuous operations and performance, while minimizing environmental impact. Here's how we support your critical power needs:
