Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (VIWAPA) is working out a long-term plan, divided into several phases, to modernize its installed power generation capacity to make it more efficient and environmentally friendlier, transitioning to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) generation.
After one of the old generation units had a mechanical failure, the installation of a new plant was necessary. This had to comply with a specific technical configuration and with the emission requirements of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Aggreko installed a bespoke 20 MW power solution fueled by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), specially designed to meet all established requirements.
