The Challenge
Ensuring the fun never stops at the casino, even during renovation work
Keeping the lights on at a hotel casino requires a massive power load, but keeping the lights on while disconnecting to utilities for renovation work poses a huge challenge. This hotel and casino in Florida faced just that problem – completing a number of renovation and construction projects, which would require cutting off utilities, but not cutting off the entertainment and comfort to guests. They would also require a reliable power source for the renovations that did not interfere with ongoing construction or create too much noise and disrupt guests.
Key Facts
The Solution
A small but powerful setup they could rely on
We worked closely with the electrical contractor to fully understand the requirements and challenges they were facing. Our experts designed a customized package, which synchronized two-1,500kW generators that would transfer the electrical load between them near-instantaneously, just in case anything happened to either one. We also supplied each generator with a 2,300 gallon fuel tank, as well as one 2,000 amp I-line panel. We made sure our equipment was far enough away from the building that noise wasn’t an issue for guests and that our entire package was small enough to stay out of the way of construction.
The Impact
Uninterrupted construction with no power problems
During the four months that our equipment was onsite, the construction team reported no problems. With tight and stringent construction deadlines, we helped keep construction on schedule and within budget.
More importantly, the hotel and casino continued offering the same great experience, while renovating and expanding as planned.
